Stephen Manzi

Steve Manzi is one of the country’s leading development strategists, and has worked as a consultant to nonprofit institutions since the 1980’s. Most recently serving as executive vice-president of Changing Our World, Steve has advised a range of educational, social service, faith-based, healthcare, and cultural institutions, and has directed multi-million dollar capital fundraising campaigns, feasibility studies, and strategic planning initiatives.

A frequent writer and commentator on fundraising and development-related topics, Steve’s article “The Five Dirty Secrets of Capital Campaigns” (originally published in onPhilanthropy.com) has become an industry standard, and has been widely reprinted. Steve also co-wrote the screenplay for The Kiss, the 2003 independent film starring Terence Stamp, Billy Zane and Eliza Dushku.

As a volunteer, Steve serves on the Board of Directors of The Nonprofit Connection, a nonprofit provider of technical assistance services to New York-based not-for-profit organizations. He received a bachelor’s degree from Hofstra University, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, and a master’s degree from New York University.
